J. Allen Tyra

A 11-year veteran with Health Management Associates, Inc., Allen joined Crossgates River Oaks Hospital in October of 2007.  Prior to this he had been Chief Executive Officer at Lehigh Regional Medical Center in Lehigh Acres, Florida, and also Natchez Community Hospital in Natchez, Mississippi.  Allen was also the Chief Operating Officer at Riley Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.  

Prior to joining HMA, Allen was employed in the healthcare industry by HealthSouth Corporation; before that he was the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at the University of South Alabama, where he was promoted to management positions after joining the hospital as a respiratory therapist in 1987.  He received both his undergraduate and Master of Arts in Business Administration from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.  Allen is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
